PROJECTS
House Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The original structure of this beautiful property dates back to 1994. The brief was to retain most of the existing structure but modernise the entire look and feel.
The natural slope of the site creates sweeping views over an abundant garden space, pool and tennis court. In order to capture this, the formal lounge design became the overriding architectural feature of the home. The “barn style” double volume structure forms the entrance to the home. The fully glazed facade provides views as soon as you enter the front door, setting the theme for the remainder of the home.
Water features, zen gardens, landscaping, natural stone and retaining of all the natural features add to the green star rating of this home. Other features include rainwater harvesting, solar power, smart energy fittings and re-use and reconfiguration of existing steel structures.
The brief accommodates all the requirements of a young energetic family such as two Entertainment areas, Gym Room, Kids Pajama Lounge, swimming pool. An open plan TV lounge, Dining and Kitchen area form the family hub become the more social part of the house. This is then complimented with private areas for each member of the family.
